what if
A question I once asked myself and that stayed on my mind for a long time was: “What if COVID-19 had never happened?”
Then I realized there is no single answer, no single theory. But I kept thinking about it, so… make yourself comfortable.
With the pandemic, social media had a strong impact on all of us. It became a “safe space” for many people, without them realizing that, over time, it could slowly take away parts of their identity.
And I do not want to be misunderstood,I believe social media has its benefits. What truly matters is how we filter the information we receive and how we choose to use it for our own good.
It is strange how, during the pandemic, so many addictions were created. People became dependent on their phones, more passive, addicted to pornography, and started building false identities.
We forgot what it feels like to eat without a phone in our hands, or to spend an evening playing board games without posting anything just being present and enjoying the moment.
Somewhere along the way, we forgot how to be human.
We forgot how to spend quality time together without feeling the need to show everyone else that we are doing it.
But if you are reading this and feel like you have gone through an identity crisis or you are still dealing with one change is not as hard as it seems.
Go for a run. Create something. Try a new recipe. Catch up with a friend. Draw, even if you are not good at it.
And I want to end this with something I once read:
“
Humans are designed to create. That is why you feel depressed when all you do is consume.”
